Terms of Service

    1. Introduction

    Welcome to Salonist ("we", "us", "our").

    Salonist is a platform that helps salon owners collect reviews, run pre-visit forms, and build their own client circle — independently from third-party booking platforms.

    By accessing or using Salonist, you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

    2. Eligibility

    You must:

    • Be at least 18 years old
    • Be legally able to enter into a binding agreement
    • Use the Service only for lawful purposes

    3. Account Registration

    To manage a salon on Salonist, you must create an account using email/password or Google Sign-In.

    You are responsible for:

    • Maintaining the confidentiality of your account
    • All activity that occurs under your account

    4. Description of the Service

    Salonist allows salon owners to:

    • Collect and display client reviews on a branded page
    • Run pre-visit preparation checklists and consent forms
    • Build a client circle with proper consent
    • Generate QR posters for in-salon use
    • Export customer data as CSV

    Clients interact with the salon's page without creating an account.

    5. Customer Data & Consent

    Salonist is a technology platform only. It does not own, control, or make decisions about client data collected through the Service.

    • Client data (reviews, form responses, contact details) is owned and controlled exclusively by the salon owner.
    • Salonist acts solely as a data processor under the salon owner's instructions. It has no independent right to use, share, or retain client data.
    • Salon owners are responsible for handling client data in compliance with applicable law, including obtaining proper consent.
    • When clients submit reviews, sign a pre-visit declaration, or join a salon's circle, the salon owner is responsible for choosing the correct legal basis and handling any follow-up rights requests.

    For Salon Clients

    If you wish to access, correct, or delete your personal data, please contact the salon that collected it directly. Salonist cannot process data requests on behalf of salons, as the salon owner is the sole data controller for client information.

    6. Pricing, Billing & Cancellation

    6.1 Subscription

    Salonist is offered as a monthly subscription at €19 per month (VAT may apply depending on your country of residence). New accounts include a 30-day free trial. No setup fee, no commission, no per-booking fees, no marketplace cut.

    6.2 Billing

    Subscriptions are billed in advance via Stripe, our payment processor. By starting a paid subscription, you authorise recurring monthly charges to your selected payment method until you cancel.

    6.3 Cancellation

    You can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain full access until then.

    6.4 Refunds

    The 30-day free trial is the try-before-you-buy. After the trial, subscription fees are non-refundable, including for partial months. We do not pro-rate refunds when you cancel mid-period.

    6.5 After cancellation

    For 30 days after cancellation, you can still log in to export your client list, reviews, and other data as CSV. After that, your account and associated data may be permanently deleted. Your public salon page is taken offline at the end of your final paid period.

    6.6 Price changes

    We may change subscription pricing in the future. Material price changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days in advance and will only take effect at the start of your next billing period after that notice. You can cancel before the new price applies.

    7. Data Hosting & Security

    • The Service is hosted on Vercel with Supabase used for database, authentication, storage, and server-side functions
    • Data is stored and processed within the EU where possible
    • Reasonable technical and organizational measures are used to protect data

    8. Acceptable Use

    You agree not to:

    • Use the Service for unlawful purposes
    • Interfere with or disrupt the Service
    • Attempt unauthorized access to systems or data
    • Submit fake reviews or misleading content

    9. Intellectual Property

    All intellectual property related to Salonist (software, branding, design) belongs to us.

    You retain ownership of your content (reviews, photos, customer data). You grant us a limited license to process it solely to provide the Service.

    10. Disclaimer of Warranties

    Salonist is provided "as is" and "as available." We make no warranties regarding uptime, accuracy, or suitability for any specific purpose.

    11. Limitation of Liability

    To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect damages, lost revenue, or reliance on the Service. Our total liability is limited to the amount paid by you in the last 12 months.

    12. Termination

    We may suspend or terminate access if:

    • These Terms are violated
    • Required by law
    • The Service is discontinued

    13. Governing Law

    These Terms are governed by the laws of Germany, excluding conflict-of-law rules. Jurisdiction shall be the courts of Germany, unless mandatory consumer protections apply.

    14. Changes to These Terms

    We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via the Service or email. Continued use constitutes acceptance.
